The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art invites you to join architectural historian Paul J. Mateyunas on an exclusive tour of Long Island’s magnificent North Shore arranged by Classical Excursions. Paul is the author of the bestselling book North Shore Long Island Country Houses, 1890-1950 published by Acanthus Press, as well as Long Island’s Gold Coast.

Among the architectural sites to be visited is a French Normandy-style residence on Sands Point designed by McKim, Mead & White, said to be the inspiration for East Egg, the fictional estate in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Other tour sites include two magnificent mansions designed and built more recently by the New York firm of Oliver Cope Architect.
