Derbyshire has long been a favorite destination of discriminating visitors of England’s great country houses and scenic beauty. Historian Simon Jenkins in his book England’s Thousand Best Houses, calls Derbyshire a “Prince Among Counties”. We welcome participants to join us on this eight day tour sponsored by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, as we explore Derbyshire with a daily celebration of private tours, luncheons and teas with aristocratic home owners. Our tour will feature special visits to Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and more as well as include a lecture by architectural historian Oliver Gerrish. Accommodations are at the Cavendish Hotel, located on the Chatsworth Estate, the Marriot Breadsall Priory in Derby and the Lanesborough Hotel in London.
